Eating Healthy – Olive Oil Or Peanut Oil?

Olive Oil is toted as a health food to add to your diet. Some people even use it instead of standard cooking oil on a regular basis. How can you easily add it to your diet?

When you fry eggs, pancakes, waffles and other foods, just use it instead of your normal cooking oil. You’ll never taste it. Cooking oils aren’t good for you, but when you heat them they are even worse as they can get carcinogenic.

It can be added to homemade bread, rolls, deserts, muffins, cookies and many other things. If the food you’re cooking has a mild flavor, its best to use peanut oil so you can’t taste it.

Peanut oil is good for milder foods and is healthier than most cooking oils including canola oil. Peanut oil can be used in mild muffins, dessert breads, crisp/cobbler toppings and can used as a substitute for melted butter. Never heat it in a skillet as it can become carcinogenic.

When you decide on a brand to buy, you’ll want it to be GMO free. You may need to buy organic to make sure you get a clean source. Olive sure be first cold pressed, extra virgin oil. I have never seen it as organic, but am sure you could find some at a health food store.

Is Peanut or Olive Oil Healthier?

If you find the cleanest source of both oils and compare them, olive oil generally comes out ahead. However, olive oil has a bit more flavor than peanut oil and can’t be used as universally.
